Stokes Obtains Injunction in Trademark Infringement Suit

10 May 2022
COS attorney, Jonathan D. Stokes, obtained a stipulated final judgment and permanent injunction from the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, prohibiting the defendant from infringing on the client's federally registered trademark.

After filing only the initial complaint, Stokes was able to negotiate and obtain a settlement agreement and consent judgment from the defendant, which prohibited the defendant from forever using the client's trademark or any words substantially similar, including removing all references to the trademark on social media. The stipulated final judgment and permanent injunction allowed the COS client to obtain its optimum desired outcome while avoiding the time and expense of protracted litigation.
